Secure FTP

There are two ways to transfer securely files between your machine and our server - SFTP (FTP over SSH) and FTP over SSL/TLS. We support both protocols.

To use SFTP, however, one needs to have shell access to our server, which is subject to additional charges, and is not automatically granted to every user. Thus we recommend that one defaults to FTP over TLS.

Accessing the server via encrypted FTP is no different than using plain old FTP - just use FTP over TLS (explicit encryption) in your FTP client, on the standard port 21 with your usual FTP username/password credentials. We recommend that you connect to us1.solid-hosting.net to avoid any certificate warnings or errors.

Here are the connection details in a nutshell:

FTP Host: us1.solid-hosting.net (or your domain name)

FTP Port: 21

FTP Username/password: your FTP login credentials

If you need more information then please do not hesitate to contact us at support@solid-hosting.net.
